The Challenge

A promising smart wearable brand approached us with a complex challenge: the founders had a product idea but needed complete operational and strategic support to bring it to market.

The founders required guidance on multiple fronts simultaneously: product manufacturing, technology integration, operational setup, budget allocation, investor engagement, and market entry. Their goal was to launch a tech-enabled smart ring with quality, compliance, and scalable operations, without building an expensive internal team from scratch.

Our Role

We onboarded as a Virtual COO team, taking ownership of the project end-to-end. Our role was to act as the external leadership engine—guiding product development, operations, team building, and GTM execution—while ensuring the founders could focus on strategic vision.

What We Did

Product Development & Manufacturing Strategy

  • Evaluated internal manufacturing vs. importing components and assembling in India
  • Chose a dual approach: import select components, handle assembly and technology integration in India
  • Coordinated product design, feature finalization, and vendor identification
  • Built SOPs, locked in commercials, pricing, and vendor contracts
  • Ensured regulatory compliance, certifications, and import/export regulations were addressed
  • Partnered with technology vendors to ensure seamless integration

Operations & Process Setup

  • Structured the end-to-end operational workflow
  • Designed processes for assembly, quality checks, supply chain, and vendor management
  • Established clear financial and operational governance, including budget allocation for GTM
  • Built internal reporting systems to track milestones, cash flow, and vendor performance

Go-To-Market & Market Entry

  • Developed DEX, GTM strategy, and distributor/sales channels
  • Liaised with external partners including e-commerce and quick-commerce platforms
  • Finalized the financial model to support scaling and investor conversations
  • Planned phased market entry with realistic budgets and risk mitigation strategies

Team Building & Leadership Support

  • Hired and structured the internal team to support operations and launch
  • Provided day-to-day leadership support, acting as a virtual executive layer
  • Managed key decisions related to operations, vendor coordination, and marketing rollout

Investor Readiness

  • Laid foundations for investor outreach
  • Built financial projections and GTM budgets that could support funding conversations
  • Positioned the founders as investment-ready with a clear execution plan

The Outcome

By the end of our engagement:

  • The product was fully developed, tested, and compliant
  • A dual manufacturing and assembly model was successfully implemented
  • Operational processes and SOPs were in place for scalable growth
  • GTM strategy, distributor networks, and e-commerce partnerships were ready for launch
